Canvas Prints – Add Something Beautiful to your Home or Business

When it comes to our homes and businesses, everyone wants their place to look nice. We want to show it off when people and customers come to visit, and it doesn’t matter if we get new furniture, paint everything a new color, change out the flooring, or buy tons of beautiful, green plants – we will spend as much as we can to make our areas look beautiful. When it comes to wall decorations though, some people fall flat. They spend a fortune on pictures, paintings, posters and more that just don’t do their home or office justice. Yet, there is a very inexpensive way to get beautiful art work for your walls without spending a ton.

Canvas prints can easily add that beautiful touch of elegance that you’re looking for to any room in your offices or home. You don’t have to spend a ton of cash on them, as they are actually extremely affordable, and they will show your visitors that you take pride in where you are. You can easily create these beautiful canvas prints by simply sending your favorite photos or art work online to a canvas printer. They will use the latest technology and transfer photos onto canvas that will provide a beautiful, painted look to any photograph.

It doesn’t matter what you have heard about canvas prints, they don’t just look like some photo that was cut out and then pasted onto a canvas. They are actually created by using inks that are specially designed to bleed deep into the canvas that will give your piece the appearance of a hand painted work of art. Actually, canvas prints are pretty much a painted picture, just painted by a computer instead of by hand.

There are so many businesses out there that print photos on canvas that will also mount the canvas and stretch it so that the frame is extremely sturdy and ready to hang. Basically, this means that your photo is printed onto the canvas and then wrapped extremely tightly onto the wooden frame. The way that the process is done gives the finished product a beautiful, pop-out style that makes the photo really stand out.

Of course, when you add in the fact that canvas has a wonderful texture to it that allows the photo to have even more depth, it makes canvas prints a wonderful way to make photos come alive. The beautifully woven texture of canvas will make anything that you choose to have printed take on the look and feel of a museum quality work of art. You can hang it anywhere – in your office, your home – and anyone that sees it will instantly stop and look. Plus, canvas prints automatically make people think that you are doing well because they look so expensive.

Canvas prints will also provide an unexpected change in your employees in your offices. When you hang these beautiful prints in your offices, your employees will feel more confident in their jobs, their offices, and their work. They feel that if you have the money to purchase expensive canvas prints, then you and the company are both doing well and won’t worry about their jobs. They will also take more pride in their work.

Although worrying about inspiring your family at home probably one the top of your list like it would be in your company, you will notice that your family, friends, and visitors will see that you love your family enough to purchase beautiful canvas prints that will last for generations to enjoy. This provides a wonderfully unique way to show off your family to everyone that sees your print, and you don’t even have to spend a ton of money on them!

Photography on Canvas – Addressing Concerns About Canvas Prints

For those of you who are new to the concept of photography on canvas, it is a contemporary art form that will likely be seen more and more in modern art galleries and perhaps even in museums. The media is very avant garde and stunning. It is the result of an impressive combination of digital photography and traditional, artistic canvas. However, the procedure is very simple. A professional, digital photograph is taken of a landscape, person or other object and through the use of computer technology it is transferred onto a professional artists’ canvas. The result is a stunning piece of artwork with definition and detailing as precise as if done solely by hand. Photography on canvas is available in both full, vibrant color or in classic black and white.

Perhaps because of the newness of this artistic work, concerns are frequently expressed as to the durability, validity and longevity of photography on canvas. It comes as no surprise that this is the case since the introduction of innovative art has almost always been met with criticism. Consider some of the pieces that have caused quite a stir in modern times. Victor-Hugo Vaca II continues to cause much controversy in the art world with the bizarre and sexual nature of many of his paintings.

So far as durability goes with photography on canvas, a printed canvas is as sturdy and strong as any artwork on canvas and perhaps more so. The work is nowhere near as vulnerable to handling as oil or acrylic paintings. It is impossible to accidentally smudge a downloaded picture on canvas. Unlike sculpture it cannot break. Since the subject matter belongs entirely to the purchaser it does not have to be controversial.

Longevity, along with durability is another issue regarding photography on canvas, yet needlessly so. This type of media doesn’t fade easily. It is even possible to place the artwork outside of one’s home and assuming the owner of the canvas doesn’t live in extreme climates, it will not become damaged for a number of years as long as it is kept out of the direct sunlight this being said photos printed on canvas and sealed with water resistent sealers can last several years out side. With the exception of stone carvings and architecture, this is definitely a first in art history!

People may wonder “but is it art?” Just as the critics were divided in their opinions about the works of such masters as Nadir Afonso, Edward Allington and Oscar Araripe, beauty and credibility is in the eye of the beholder. The Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto (AGO) actually has a piece of work on display that features a bathroom sink and a plank of wood. By someone’s estimation this cryptic piece belongs in the famous gallery, although public reception to it quite understandably is highly skeptical. And that perfectly demonstrates the conflict as to what defines art and what does not. Perhaps it would be wise to see photography on canvas before forming an opinion about the validity of this unique art form. It is well worth the assessment.

What Exactly Are Canvas Prints? Why Should I Buy One?

Canvas prints is the term that has come to describe a process by which a digital photograph is printed onto a canvas medium. What is compelling about this process is the depth and realism that can be achieved with this style of photograph printing. Even though canvas prints retain the vast majority of the smooth, realistic lines in the original photograph, the gentle diffusing of the edges and blending of colors actually adds to the original photo’s beauty.

Canvas is the preferred, traditional medium of oil and acrylic paintings. As such many avoid it as a photograph printing surface because they feel it is unauthentic or presumptuous. That may have been a consensus years ago, but it is no reason to avoid adding to the beauty of your photography now. Canvas printing has been on the rise for several years, and has quietly but securely won its way into the hearts of artists, photographers, and consumers alike.

There’s more than just an aesthetic advantage to printing on canvas, however. For example, have you ever tried printing a paper banner to put on display at an event like a sports game or trade show? I’m sure you discovered that whether you printed it on your home printer, or had it made at a shop, it didn’t last very long. Paper is overly prone to tearing, crinkling, bleeding, and falls apart of a rain drop even looks at it funny.

Canvas is none of those things. It is very heavy and durable. It is exceedingly difficult to tear. Properly printed and sealed canvas can be held under a water faucet and not bleed, weaken, or stretch. It can easily handle a few raindrops. Best of all canvas is heavy, so it won’t blow around in the wind, crinkle, crease, or distort in any way. It is truly the perfect medium for posters and banners, in addition to fine art prints.

Best of all, canvas prints are affordable. Unlike paper photograph prints, canvas doesn’t have to be put in an expensive frame with matte and glass. Even without a frame a well stretched canvas print is considered a finished product, and can be put on display as is. You don’t have to worry overmuch about protecting the canvas either – Just keep it out of heavy moisture areas like bathrooms, and away from prolonged direct sunlight. If you follow these few little suggestions, your canvas print will last for over 100 years without any visible signs of deterioration. That’s over four times as long as traditional photograph prints.

There are many uses for printed canvas, whether as an art piece, promotional poster, banner, or anything else you can think of. For example, I currently have a 3” wide 8” long unstretched canvas print covering an unsightly door. Not only does it negate the terrible aesthetics of the door, but it inspires conversation whenever I have guests. What else can you think of to put on canvas, or use printed canvas for?
